Open Ground

Change starts with understanding what’s really going on.

Sometimes we know something needs to change. We just don’t know where to begin. Open Ground is a space to stop, understand what’s happening, and create meaningful change.

Coaching, programmes and retreats for real life.

A place to begin

Understanding yourself more deeply changes what becomes possible.

Through coaching, online programmes and retreats, Open Ground brings together professional coaching, personal development, reflection and practical tools to help you understand yourself more deeply, and make different choices from there.

Main pathways

Three ways to create change.

01

Coaching

When something needs to change, personally or professionally.

One-to-one and transformational coaching for people navigating decisions, transitions, challenges or simply the sense that the way things are working now is no longer enough.

A thoughtful, practical space to step back, gain clarity and decide what comes next.

02

Love, Examined

Know yourself. Date differently.

Dating can bring up far more than the question of whether we meet the right person. Rejection. Attraction. Old relationships. Self-worth. Boundaries. The people we choose, and the things we sometimes overlook when we really want something to work.

Love, Examined is about becoming more conscious of those patterns. Not changing yourself to become more desirable. Understanding yourself well enough to choose differently.

03

Life, Rebalanced

Put yourself back into your own life.

Perhaps you’re always busy. Eating on the go. Promising yourself you’ll exercise when things calm down. Looking after everybody else. Feeling uncomfortable in your body. Starting again on Monday. And wondering why you can’t seem to get yourself back on track.

Life, Rebalanced starts somewhere different. Instead of asking what’s wrong with your willpower, we look at what’s happening in your life: stress, habits, food, movement, rest, boundaries, self-talk, your relationship with your body, and the patterns that quietly keep pushing your own needs to the bottom of the list.

This isn’t another quick fix. It’s about creating changes that can still be part of your life six months from now.

Open Ground philosophy

Perhaps you don’t need fixing.

Perhaps you need the space to understand what has been happening.

  • Why you keep repeating something you genuinely want to change.
  • Why your body is asking you to slow down.
  • Why you keep saying yes when you mean no.
  • Why rejection can feel so personal.
  • Why knowing what to do isn’t always enough to make us do it.

At Open Ground, we get curious about the pattern rather than judging the person.

Because when you understand what is driving something, you have somewhere much more useful to begin.

A note from Sheelagh

Meaningful change rarely comes from simply telling ourselves to try harder.

I created Open Ground because meaningful change rarely comes from simply telling ourselves to try harder.

Whether I’m working with someone around a major life decision, relationships, stress, confidence or their relationship with their body, I’m interested in what sits underneath the visible problem.

  • What are we telling ourselves?
  • What have we learned to believe?
  • What does the body communicate that we’ve become accustomed to overriding?
  • And what might become possible if we stopped judging ourselves long enough to listen?

My work brings together professional coaching with more than a decade of experience across personal development, emotional wellbeing, breathwork and yoga-based approaches.

Open Ground is a place to explore all of that, and turn insight into practical, sustainable change.
